About this item:

  • PIANO KEY DIP: The key dip is the distance the key will travel before hitting the punching underneath the front rail. A felt punching as well as some paper and cardboard punchings are usually found beneath each key to adjust the final measurement.
  • KEY DIP BLOCK FUNCTION: Put the key dip block on the front of the key. Press the key down and measure it. The keys should have already been leveled before you take measurements. If the top is level with adjacent keys, the dip is correct.
  • PIANO KEY DIP AMOUNT VARIATION: So the amount that goes down varies a little bit from one piano to the next, but in general, the key should go down between 3/8 to 7/16 of an inch when it comes to measuring the key dip.
  • KEY DIP BLOCK AVAILABLE SIZE: Each Key Dip Block provides a quick and accurate way to determine if the dip of the key is standard. We offer several sizes that you can choose from. Please choose from the available sizes: Block for 3/8" Dip, Block for 7/16" Dip and Block for 13/32" Dip.
  • HIGH QUALITY MATERIAL: This Key Dip Block is made of tapered wood block with acrylic "keytop" for durability and long lasting use.
